Your observation matters

Assessment

If you have concerns about your child's development - don't wait.

There is nothing harder than seeing that your child needs help, but not knowing what specifically they need help with, and trailing from one specialist to another trying to piece it together.

What your child needs is someone to look at all the aspects of their development and build a comprehensive, holistic picture of what is going on for them.

Your concerns could be because your child is having difficulty meeting milestones for communication, movement, feeding or learning.  They could also be showing sensory sensitivity and difficulty regulating their behaviour or emotions.

You know your child best

We start with your concerns as a parent, then we go back to the fundamentals of child development to understand where your child is struggling.

Our team have 40+ years experience collaborating to blend their professional skills through the PerVigeō model developed by Dr Patricia Champion.

0-8 Developmental Assessments

Step 1 - We start by reviewing the information you provide to us; including  questionnaires from parents and teachers.

Step 2 - You and your child visit PerVigeō for a 90 min asessment, which uses a blend of observational play-based tasks and standardised testing.

Step 3 - The team collaborate to develop a comprehensive report and individual plan.

Step 4 -  You return for a 60 min feedback session, where we walk through the information together and  create a plan that works for your family.

Additional Assessment Options

Milestone achievement

8+ Observational Assessments

For children over 8 the focus of the assessment is less on developmental milestones and more on their individual neurodevelopmental profile.

The flow is very similar to a 0-8 Developmental Assessment, however the in-person session is slightly longer to allow more time for observation:

Step 1: Our clinical team review information from you, any prior assessments, school reports and responses from questionnaires for parents, school (and potentially your child, depending on their age).

Step 2: You and your child visit PerVigeō for a 120 min asessment, which uses a blend of observational tasks and standardised testing.

Step 3: The team collaborate to develop a comprehensive report and individual plan to discuss with you.

Step 4: You come back in for a 60 min feedback session where we walk through the information together and  create a plan that works for your family.

Play and Social Development

All Ages Review and Replan Sessions

Your child may have had assessments in the past but you don't know how they are progressing now and where to go next.

These sessions are for children who have had prior assessments and / or diagnosis and the family would like to understand how they are progressing and to make an updated support plan.

Review and Replan sessions are bespoke for each child so please contact us to discuss timings and costs.

Sensory Sensitivity & Regulation

4+ Autism Assessments

We also offer Autism assessment and diagnosis for children 4 years and up.

There is considerable overlap in symptoms across different diagnoses, so we need to carefully consider all possible explanations for your child's challenges.

To run a robust, differential diagnose process  we need to gather a wide range of information, in order to identify the most accurate and appropriate diagnosis.

Autism Assessments - As an add on to Developmental Assessment
Because your child has already been through a thorough assessment, we can combine this information plus information from the autism screeners to accelerate the process.

Depending on the results of the screeners our psychologist will use a specialised  Autism assessment tool . This includes school observations, standardised tests and interviews, to provide a final report.

Autism Assessments - Stand Alone
If you child has not been through a comprehensive developmental assessment then we will need to gather a wider range of information and complete an ADHD / Autism screener, before we can determine whether Autism assessment is appropriate.
